Samsung S25 Ultra Hands On
Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S25 Ultra, its latest flagship smartphone, at the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22, 2025. The device is now available for pre-order and will be released on February 7.
Design and Display
The Galaxy S25 Ultra features a refined design with rounded corners and a textured titanium frame, making it both slimmer (8.2mm) and lighter (218g) than its predecessor. The 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display offers a variable refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, ensuring vibrant visuals and smooth performance.
Performance
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the S25 Ultra comes with 12GB of RAM and offers storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Samsung claims significant performance improvements, including a 40% faster Neural Processing Unit (NPU), a 37% faster CPU, and a 30% faster GPU compared to the previous model.
Camera System
The device boasts a versatile camera setup:
• Main Camera: 200MP sensor
• Ultra-Wide Camera: Upgraded to 50MP for enhanced wide-angle shots
• Telephoto Lenses: 10MP and 50MP sensors for detailed zoom capabilities
• Front Camera: 12MP sensor for high-quality selfies
Notably, the S25 Ultra introduces 10-bit HDR video recording by default and offers a new Galaxy Log mode for advanced color grading.
Battery and Charging
Equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, the Galaxy S25 Ultra supports 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, ensuring extended usage and quick power replenishment.
Software and AI Integration
Running on Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7, the S25 Ultra emphasizes enhanced AI capabilities. Features like Now Brief provide personalized daily summaries, while the device’s AI suite offers natural language interactions and proactive suggestions. Samsung has committed to seven years of software and security updates for this model.
Pricing and Availability
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is available in Titanium Silver Blue, Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, and Titanium White Silver. Pricing is as follows:

• 512GB: £1,349
• 1TB: £1,549
As a pre-order incentive, Samsung is offering a complimentary storage upgrade, doubling the base storage to 512GB at no additional cost.
