Woman Arrested Over 1978 Killing of 5-Year-Old in One of London’s Oldest Cold Cases
Police have released footage showing the moment Janice Nix was arrested at Heathrow Airport in February 2025 for the 1978 manslaughter of five-year-old Andrea Bernard. On Tuesday (26 May), jurors at Isleworth Crown Court found Nix, 67, guilty of Andrea’s manslaughter by forcing her into a scalding bath in Thornton Heath, south London, in 1978. David Malone, a deputy chief crown prosecutor in London, described the case against Nix as the result of a “remarkable investigation”.
