Brother and Sister Jailed for Brutal Killing of Minister Enfrence in Birmingham

A brother and sister from Birmingham have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of 21-year-old Minister Enfrence. The crime, which shocked the Kings Norton community, took place on 5 November 2024, in Medway Grove.

Isaiah Marsh, 20, and his sister Mya Marsh, 23, carried out the deadly attack that left Enfrence with more than 20 stab wounds to his body, arms, hands, and head. The injuries were so severe that Enfrence died at the scene despite emergency services being called.

The siblings, who lived on Teviot Grove in Kings Norton, both denied murder and manslaughter. Isaiah also pleaded not guilty to possessing a bladed article. However, following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court, both were found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.

CCTV footage played during the trial captured the horrifying moments of the attack. Mya, a bank worker, was seen brandishing a kitchen knife and reportedly handed it to Isaiah during the confrontation. The prosecution suggested that the motive behind the killing may have been a dispute involving a cannabis transaction or damage to a bicycle.

The judge described the murder as a “sustained and savage” attack, noting that the victim stood little chance of survival. The level of violence used by the siblings shocked both the courtroom and the local community.

The West Midlands Police praised the work of investigators and the bravery of witnesses who came forward. A spokesperson said, “This was a horrific act of violence that resulted in the tragic loss of a young man’s life. Our thoughts are with his family as they continue to grieve.”

This  as a grim reminder of the consequences of knife crime, which continues to be a pressing issue across the UK. Community leaders have since called for increased support and outreach programs to steer young people away from violence.
