Fraudulent Life in the UK Tests

A 61-year-old woman has been arrested in Enfield for allegedly using wigs and disguises to fraudulently take Life in the UK citizenship tests for over 14 applicants. According to authorities, she evaded detection by altering ID documents and traveling to multiple test centers across the country. The Life in the UK Test assesses applicants’ knowledge of British values, history, and society, serving as a requirement for citizenship or indefinite leave to remain.

Immigration officers confiscated fake documents and wigs reportedly used in the scheme. Phillip Parr, from Immigration Enforcement, stated that the suspect’s actions were premeditated and deliberate, involving careful planning and strategic test center selection. The fraudulent tests are believed to have been conducted between June 2022 and August 2023. The woman remains in custody as investigations continue into this elaborate operation, which officials described as a significant attempt to bypass immigration laws.
