Wisconsin Woman Convicted in Eye Drop Murder Case

A Wisconsin woman convicted in eye drop murder case ,Jessy Kurczewski, aged 40, has received a life sentence, with the possibility of parole, following her conviction for the murder of her friend Lynn Hernan. The crime involved the administration of a fatal overdose of eye drops.

Kurczewski was found guilty of murder in November, along with two counts of felony theft, for which she was convicted. The sentencing, reported by The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, revealed that Kurczewski had embezzled close to $300,000 from Hernan, who was a hairdresser.

Prosecutors presented compelling evidence suggesting that Kurczewski committed the murder to cover up her embezzlement scheme and avoid detection. The court imposed the maximum penalty of five years for each theft charge. Additionally, Kurczewski received consecutive sentences totaling a minimum of 30 years for the murder conviction.

With the consecutive sentences and the 30-year minimum for murder, Kurczewski faces a virtual impossibility of release for at least four decades, effectively eliminating any chance of freedom for the next 40 years.
