Chris Brown Arrested in UK Over Alleged Bottle Attack
US singer Chris Brown has been arrested in the UK in connection with an alleged violent assault at a London nightclub in 2023. The arrest took place at a Manchester hotel shortly after 2:00 AM on Thursday, 15 May. According to police sources, the arrest is linked to an incident that occurred at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London, where Brown is accused of attacking music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that Brown, 35, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. The alleged assault took place on 19 February 2023 at a venue in Hanover Square. Investigators from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit are leading the case, and Brown remains in custody as inquiries continue.
Abe Diaw alleges that Brown struck him over the head with a bottle before proceeding to punch and kick him while he lay on the floor. The reported injuries included a collapsed knee that required hospital treatment and the use of crutches during recovery.
Chris Brown, known for chart-topping hits such as “With You,” “No Air,” and “Beautiful People,” is currently on tour in the UK with several performances scheduled across June and July. It is unclear at this stage whether his arrest will impact the tour dates.
