UK Nursing Student Fatally Stabbed in Texas Days Before Graduation
A British nursing student has been tragically stabbed to death in her Houston, Texas apartment, just days before her anticipated graduation. Tamilore Odunsi, 23, originally from London, had moved to the United States in 2022 to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse.
Tamilore, who was also active on TikTok under the name “Tami Dollars,” had gained over 30,000 followers by sharing her nursing journey and daily life. Her final video, posted just days before her death, showed her beaming with the caption: “I’m readdyyyyy,” in reference to her upcoming graduation.
Authorities discovered Tamilore’s body after conducting a welfare check prompted by a family friend’s concern. Houston police found blood on the rear patio of the apartment, leading them to force entry. Inside, Tamilore was found deceased in the kitchen with multiple stab wounds.
In a nearby bedroom, police discovered a male, reportedly her roommate, critically injured from self-inflicted wounds. The pair had only recently begun living together and were essentially strangers, according to reports. The nature of their relationship and what led to the violent incident is still under investigation.
Tamilore’s grieving family has since launched a GoFundMe campaign to repatriate her body to the UK and help cover funeral expenses. The fundraiser has already raised over £30,000 from supporters moved by her story and the senseless nature of her death.
Tamilore’s ambition and vibrant personality had touched many, both in real life and online. Her followers and friends have flooded social media with tributes, expressing shock and heartbreak at the sudden loss.
The Houston Police Department continues to investigate the case, with more details expected as the inquiry progresses. As the community mourns a young woman full of promise and passion, many are calling for awareness about safety concerns and housing arrangements for international students.
