In a shocking incident in south-east London, a man has been fatally shot, and two others have sustained gunshot injuries, according to the Metropolitan Police. The shooting occurred near Wells Park Road in Sydenham, drawing attention to the area’s safety concerns.

  • Time and Location: The police received reports of a shooting at 10:10 BST on Sunday near Wells Park Road, Sydenham.
  • Victims: Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Additionally, a woman with gunshot wounds to her legs was transported to the hospital, where her condition is deemed non-life-threatening. A third individual also sought hospital treatment for suspected gunshot injuries, though their condition remains undisclosed.

Police Response and Investigation:

The Metropolitan Police have strongly condemned this “senseless act of violence” and are appealing for public assistance. No arrests have been made, and efforts are underway to identify the deceased and notify his family. A post-mortem examination is pending.

Commander Peter Stevens expressed his concern over the incident, particularly given its occurrence on a Sunday morning in a residential area. He assured the community of a swift and thorough police response, emphasizing the commitment to public safety and justice.
