Teen Fatally Stabbed on London Bus: Police Appeal for Information
A 14-year-old boy has tragically died after being stabbed on a double-decker bus in Woolwich, southeast London. The incident occurred on the 472 bus, with emergency services arriving quickly, but despite their efforts, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rogers described the incident as “senseless” and extended condolences to the boy’s family. He urged anyone with information to come forward to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the crime.
Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, expressed his heartbreak, offering sympathies to the victim’s family and friends. He emphasised the need to tackle knife crime, saying, “We must do everything in our power to bring those responsible to justice and end this scourge in our city.”
Local residents have been left shocked and saddened. One commented, “It’s devastating that such a young life has been taken in this way. This shouldn’t happen in our community.”
In response, the Metropolitan Police have increased patrols in the area and appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward. They hope to piece together what led to this horrific attack.
