Martyn Blake Acquitted of Chris Kaba’s Murder in South London Shooting
Metropolitan Police officer, Martyn Blake, has been acquitted of murder after shooting Chris Kaba, 24, in September 2022 in Streatham, South London.
Blake had fired at Kaba, who was driving an Audi that police believed was connected to a shooting the previous day. The police had followed and forced the vehicle to stop before the fatal shot. The not guilty verdict has sparked controversy, angering fellow firearms officers and the Met Commissioner, Mark Rowley. The jury took just under three hours to reach their decision.
