KFC Launches BBQ Perfume: No. 11 Eau de BBQ
Fast-food giant KFC has introduced a new perfume called “No. 11 Eau de BBQ”. Contrary to its name, this perfume doesn’t smell like a chicken shop. Instead, it aims to evoke the scents and aromas of a classic British barbecue, featuring smoky and woody notes with an undertone of charcoal.
While renowned perfume houses like Tom Ford and Le Labo experiment with similar woody and smoky fragrances, KFC’s perfume seeks to capture the “irresistible scent of a BBQ” by incorporating blended spices and marinated meat. The perfume’s base notes primarily consist of charcoal and smoke, complemented by heart notes of wood and top notes of a secret blend of 11 herbs and spices, along with marinated meat, resulting in what the fried chicken restaurant calls “a tantalizing aroma”. It’s worth noting that The Standard hasn’t had the opportunity to smell the fragrance.
Although smelling like a barbecued chicken burger might not be everyone’s cup of tea
the perfume coincides with the launch of a new menu item from KFC – the “ultimate BBQ burger”. This new sandwich includes original recipe chicken, crispy onions, and barbecue sauce, all sandwiched between a brioche-style bun.
The fragrance is available starting April 29th, priced at £11, which is roughly the same cost as a bucket of six-piece original recipe chicken. KFC has pledged that 100% of the sales proceeds will go to the KFC Foundation, supporting organizations across the country that empower young people to unleash their potential and build a positive future.
Phoebe Syms, brand manager at KFC, commented on the fragrance, saying: “No. 11 Eau de BBQ captures the mouth-watering scent of our brand-new Ultimate BBQ burger, allowing you to sizzle with every spritz.”
