Kamel Hawkins The Maniac Behind the NYC Subway Push Incident
A disturbing event unfolded recently at New York City’s 18th Street subway station, where 23-year-old Kamel Hawkins allegedly shoved a stranger onto the tracks in an unprovoked attack. Hawkins, who has since been charged with attempted murder, fled the scene but was apprehended hours later near Columbus Circle.
What Happened?
The victim, a 45-year-old man, suffered a broken rib and a head injury but, remarkably, avoided being struck by an oncoming train. Emergency services quickly transported him to Bellevue Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Witnesses described the incident as shocking, with one bystander reportedly shouting, “He’s alive! He’s alive,” as firefighters rescued the injured man from between the subway cars.

Kamel Hawkins’ Troubled History
Hawkins is no stranger to law enforcement, with a history of criminal behaviour and erratic actions.
•2019 Incident: He assaulted a police officer, inflicting a back injury.
•Ongoing Legal Issues: He is currently facing charges in Brooklyn for assault, harassment, and weapons possession.
Authorities confirmed that the subway attack was random, with no apparent connection between Hawkins and the victim.
Subway Safety Under Scrutiny
This incident is part of a growing trend of violent attacks on the New York City subway system, prompting heightened concerns over public safety. In response, officials have ramped up security, including deploying over 1,000 National Guardsmen to patrol the network during the busy holiday season.
