FIRST LOOK: 2024 Porsche Macan

Introducing the latest innovation from Porsche – the all-new electric Porsche Macan. This marks a bold leap for Porsche, especially considering the global popularity of their Cayenne and Macan SUVs, with the latter being the best-selling model in the UK. The decision to embrace full electrification early on showcases Porsche’s commitment to cutting-edge technology.

FIRST LOOK: 2024 Porsche Macan

The initial lineup features two impressive models, namely the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo, both built on Porsche’s groundbreaking 800-volt PPE (Premium Platform Electric). Notably, this marks the first time Porsche has electrified an existing model. Both models boast dual motors, all-wheel drive, and share a powerful 100kWh battery, providing 95kWh of usable capacity.

Range

In terms of range, the Macan 4 offers an estimated 380 miles, while the Turbo model clocks in at 367 miles. Real-world driving is expected to achieve high 200s in mileage. Porsche ensures that performance is not compromised, embodying the brand’s legacy of speed and agility.

The Macan 4 delivers just over 400bhp, accelerating from 0 to 62mph in a brisk 5.1 seconds, reaching a top speed of 137mph. On the other hand, the Turbo model boasts an impressive 635bhp with launch control, sprinting from 0 to 62mph in a mere 3.3 seconds and achieving a top speed of 162mph.

Pricing

Pricing for the electric Macan reflects the premium nature of this groundbreaking vehicle. The Macan 4 is priced at £69,800, while the more powerful Macan Turbo comes in at £95,000. Though this may seem higher than the conventional Macan models, the advanced technology, performance capabilities, and environmental considerations make the electric versions a compelling choice for enthusiasts seeking the future of driving.

In comparison, the current petrol-powered Porsche Macan lineup starts at £53,400 for the base model with a 263bhp turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, extending up to £71,700 for the high-performance six-cylinder Macan GTS. While the electric variants come at a premium, they represent a significant step forward in Porsche’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the automotive industry.
