British Airways Steward Found Naked on Flight After Drug Binge
A British Airways flight from San Francisco to London Heathrow took a shocking turn when a male steward was discovered naked and behaving erratically in a business class toilet. The incident, which occurred mid-flight, reportedly followed a suspected drug binge.
The steward, whose identity has not been disclosed, was supposed to be serving meals in the Club World cabin on the packed Airbus A380-800. Concerned colleagues noticed his sudden absence during service and initiated a search. To their disbelief, the crew manager found the steward completely naked, dancing and acting out of control inside one of the aircraft’s lavatories.
In an effort to maintain order and protect passengers from further disturbance, staff dressed the steward in a spare pair of First Class pyjamas and seated him in a private section of the First Class cabin for the remainder of the ten-and-a-half-hour journey.
Upon arrival at Heathrow around 11am last Sunday, law enforcement officers met the plane on the tarmac. The steward was arrested on suspicion of drug use and immediately given medical attention. He was later wheeled off the aircraft and taken into custody for further evaluation.
British Airways has confirmed that the steward has been suspended from duty while a full investigation is underway. A spokesperson for the airline said, “Safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is always our top priority. We are assisting the authorities with their investigation.”
The rest of the cabin crew had to complete the long-haul flight without any scheduled breaks due to the steward’s incapacitation, working under intense pressure to ensure service continued smoothly.
Police are now examining whether the steward consumed illegal substances before or during the flight. The bizarre episode has raised concerns about crew screening and fitness for duty, especially on long international flights
